Flower Care
Roses and Garden Roses
- Immediately after receiving the roses open the box and remove the cable ties or bands. Don’t remove the paper wrapping the blooms.
- Fill flower containers, vases or buckets with approximately 12cm of clear cold water.
- Remove the outer petals (guard petals).
- Cut the stems at an angle to remove approximately 2cm from the bottom of the stem. Allow the roses to hydrate in containers with water for at least 4 hours or longer, if possible.
- Note that the leaves should be above the waterline. Remove any foliage that falls below the waterline in the container prior to hydrating the roses.
- The water should be changed every 24 – 48 hours to ensure freshness and longer life of the roses
Tropical Flowers
Tropical Flower Bouquets
All the bouquets in the box are covered with protective plastic wrapping. Every bouquet is properly marked.
- Some of the round bouquets come with plastic wrapping covering the stems. It needs to be removed.
- Remove approximately 1.5cm from the bottom of the stems
- Remove the paper protecting the flowers and the foliage
- Gently shake the bouquet so it takes its original shape. Spray the flowers and foliage with clean water
- Put the bouquet in a container with approximately 15cm of water
- The flowers prefer room temperatures (18 – 20 ºC equivalent to 65 – 68 ºF)
- IMPORTANT: spray your flowers at least twice a day (ideally 3-4 times a day) to keep them fresh and have them last longer
Tropical Flowers
- Remove approximately 1.5 cm from the bottom of the stems
- Put the flowers in a container with approximately 15cm of cold water
- Keep the flowers at temperatures 13 – 21 ºC equivalent to 55 – 70 ºF
- The flowers are best stored at temperature above 15 ºC equivalent to 59 ºF
- The recommended humidity is 70-85%
- Tropical flowers are well stored in their original boxes. Spray water on top of the flowers at least once a day and keep the flowers at recommended temperatures.
- Once the flowers are displayed, refresh the flowers, the foliage and the stems spraying them with water at least twice a day to have them last longer. “THE MORE WATER, THE BETTER” – for better results keep the flowers wrapped in foliage.
Callas & Minicallas
- Immediately after receiving the order, open the box and remove approximately 2cm from the bottom of the stems
- Fill containers with approximately 5cm of clean cold water and allow the flowers to hydrate for a couple of hours
- Place the containers in a cooler or in the coldest place inside the house.
Other Flowers
- Immediately after receiving the order, open the box and remove approximately 2cm from the bottom of the stems
- Put the flowers in containers filled with clean cold water and remove any foliage that falls below the waterline.
- Allow the flowers to take up water by hydrating them for at least 4 hours
- The water should be changed every 24 – 48 hours to ensure freshness and longer life of the flowers
Orchids
- Keep the flowers away from heat sources and avoid temperatures below 7 ºC
